Ugandan Board and Volunteer

Although I’ve been to 28 countries and have lived in 6 of them, I always return to Uganda. My heart is with the people in East Africa and especially Welcome Home. I’ve been working
with the children and staff at Welcome Home off and on since its beginning and I am so blessed by the growth I’ve witnessed through the years.

The children are happy and healthy. They are learning about the God who loves them and is eternally their Father. The orphan spirit of rejection and loss is not found at Welcome Home. I’m a licensed teacher and have taught all ages from pre-school through university levels. I enjoy teaching, especially ELL (English Language Learning). I’ve been teaching for 40 years and am now semi-retired. I love helping out at Welcome Home by training English teachers and also teaching English classes to children and staff. English and Bible classes are also offered in Lwambogo village when there is no risk of Covid. I also lead Bible studies at Welcome Home and through my local church.

During Covid, I have been busy training our English teacher and doing what I could to help the locals in town and sharing the Gospel wherever I am. My biggest project was completing my autobiography Different by Design-The Journey of an Autistic Christian Missionary. It is available on Amazon.
